Subject: Tal-Linja cardDear Sir,
Reference is being made to the following notice;
Apply For Your Free Tallinja Card
All employees who do not yet own a Tallinja Card are to send the following details and a Passport Photo to communications@publictransport.com.mt :
- Name:
- Surname:
- ID Card:
- Date of Birth:
- Email:
- Mobile Number:
- Address:
- Postcode:
The Tallinja Cards will be sent by post, and may take up to 3 weeks to process, depending on demand.
All employees who already own a Tallinja Card will be automatically enrolled in this scheme and they are not required to take any action.
Please note that for the time being ,employees will have to top up their cards before being able to use them and ensure that they have enough credit to travel. At the beginning of the following month, they will be refunded the full amount.
This is a temporary measure and within a few months, after some system upgrades from MPT, employees should be able to use their Tallinja Cards even if they do not have any credit, as travel will be free of charge from the start (excluding Special Services).
Particular attention is being given to ”All employees who already own a Tallinja Card will be automatically enrolled in this scheme and they are not required to take any action.”
1) Could you kindly inform us how MPT will know that a person is a Police Officer?
2) Why this change as Police Officers, whether in uniform or in plain clothes, already travel for free?
3) What is meant by ”All employees who do not yet own a Tallinja Card are to send”. Is the Malta Police Force expecting that those who do not want a card, have to apply?
Best Regards,
Neville Mercieca
